Snow Days, Valentine's, and Hospital Stays

Stephen and I went to Hibachi for Valentine's Day, it was so nice to be on a date-just us!

Brooks tested positive for RSV and was admitted into the hospital for a few days so they could monitor his oxygen and give him breathing treatments. He was not a happy camper that first day and night.....but after that he was happy to play in his cage- as long as mom played too.

We came home after two nights and Brooks couldn't have been happier to be in his own house and out of his cage that he started walking!!! videos and pics coming soon!

Brooksie Bob turns 1!!!

Our baby boy turned 1 this past weekend!

So Friday afternoon we had a birthday lunch party for him and ALL his little buddies and their mommies were there. We had nearly 40 people in our little place but it was so fun- thanks everyone for sharing this special day with us!

What a great Birthday weekend!

Marathon road-trip

Some of you may have heard about our terrible trek to NC this past winter but I had to document this horrible experience. We set out for NC at about noon on Friday, picked up Stephen from work and headed West. Everything was going smooth until about 7 0r 8 pm when it started snowing a little....by 9:30 we were at a dead stop- only about 3 hours from home mind you. We inched along and followed others through the maze of snow and stranded semis and cars, getting stuck and pushed out several times, until about 11:30 pm when we were completely stuck with no sight of rescue anywhere. We tried to sleep- but you can only imagine how that worked out. We debated whether we should leave our car and head to a shelter all morning, but we stuck it out- lucky we did because by 2:30pm the next afternoon Stephen came running back to the car (he had been outside most of the day trying to help other people dig out) and announced that we were getting out! Then he started shoveling around our car and with help we were finally set free- only 18 hours later!

We arrived at my parent's house around 6:30pm Saturday night.
