Cologne, Germany Christmas Markets

The largest market is held in the courtyard of this ENORMOUS old church. When it began to rain we ran into the church and walked around until it cleared up.

The Christmas Markets in Germany are the BEST! There are so many unique and interesting crafts and  TONS of delicious food vendors to choose from (and for us it's ALL about the food!). I don't know how I didn't snap any pictures of the what we ate but let me just tell you: A bratwurst on a beautiful bun, Fried fish bites with garlic sauce, Spinach strudel, a bite of seasoned mushrooms, roasted almonds and Ryan and Carrie ate a beautiful fruit strudel with cream.

There was this cute merry-go-round for the kiddos, and then we entertained them with lollies.

The kids loved these wooden puppet dolls.

Brooks thought this was a reindeer....it was a CHRISTMAS market after all.

Even the booths themselves were so ornate and beautiful, it was quite a sight to see. I'm so glad we were able to make the trek to Cologne to take in all the holiday cheer....and German yummies!!
